European Visiting Blaschko Research Fellow

Postdoctoral scientists and finishing graduate students are encouraged to submit an application with a view to becoming the next Blaschko Fellow, based in the Department of Pharmacology in Oxford.

This unique Fellowship offers an outstanding newly qualified DPhil/PhD student the opportunity of: two years of salary funding to conduct their own research project; direct supervision and mentoring by a member of academic staff in the Department of Pharmacology; accommodation and full access to the facilities of Linacre College, enabling the Fellow to benefit from a network of other researchers and graduate students; a small budget for consumables and travel to facilitate research and the dissemination of research results at seminars and events.

I would like to inform you that the European Society for Microcirculation (ESM) is looking for bids for organizing the ESM 2019 Conference.
We are looking for a devoted scientist with the support of an active group, who are engaged in studying microcirculation and vascular biology. Also, we need an attractive program plan an exciting city, which is affordable for young scientist.
Please send you bids to me before the ESM-EVBO Geneva Conference so the Executive Committee of ESM can make decision at the meeting. As you know, the winner will be our next President for two years! We need a good one and females are encouraged! (Call for action! in PDF)

12th World Congress for Microcirculation

However, the location/organizer of the following, 12th WCM has not yet been decided. Here is a call for proposals for organizing the WCM 2022 by Prof. Meininger and Prof Tailoi.

Hermann Rein Prize 2016 awarded to Boris Strilic

The Hermann Rein Prize, donated by SERVIER Deutschland with an amount of 2,000 €, was awarded at the annual meeting of the German Society for Microcirculation and Vascular Biology (GfMVB), organised in cooperation with the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 834 in Frankfurt/Germany. It is one of the highest awards in the field. All finalists have published in the renown journal Nature, the winner Dr. Boris Strilic (Bad Nauheim/Germany) with his work “Tumour cell-induced endothelial cell necroptosis via death receptor 6 promotes metastasis“ (Nature, 2016, 536(7615):215-218). The finalists received 500 € each from GfMVB.
